J kim did a number of designs and as I recall this driver was deemed a drop in for the other peerless 51/4 hds drivers.

They're a drop in replacement for the woofer I used in the Krystals. There are measurements in this thread. http://techtalk.parts-express.com/sh...d.php?t=220589 There's a picture and a link to build pictures on my projects page.

I had read about the Krystal's they look awesome ! Unfortunately I only have 2 drivers, I bought them cheap with the hopes of one day constructing a 2-way stand mounted satellite. My thoughts were to use them with a Vifa DQ25SC16-04 tweeter.

You will either love it or hate it. There is no middle ground with that tweeter. I personally think it sounds rather cheap.

If you don't like the dq you can always try again with the bc.

Those are all nice sounding. I've heard the NE19, and I think one of the NE25's.
Those are better than the DQ.Later,

                    Re: Peerless Driver ?

I have Jay Kim's schematics on my drive at home. I'll post them sometime after dinner. I built those and took them to Iowa DIY 2009. They sounded fine, but I have to agree with Wolf...the Vifa NE series sound MUCH better than the DQs to my ears. But they should at twice price. Both will play surprisingly low - down to about 1.8K/LR4

                        Tom,
You don't happen to have the schematic with the D26NC55 do you? It may have been an MTM.

For the above TM schematic, will the Peerless 830862 sub for the 832873 ? If so what if any changes would be needed ? If they work in the Krystal's will they be close enough, or do X-overs differ that much where it works in one but not another ?

I didn't find an MTM using the 26, but he did post the MT version -

Ron's measurements show that they will work with just a little tweaking, but you would do that same basic tweaking when you are voicing the speaker anyway. The difference in response looks to be just less than 1dB across most of the pass-band.
