If you don't already have a dial or digital caliper, I suggest taking advantage of today's Deal Of The Day. I find myself using my dial calipers all the time. The unit on sale certainly isn't machinist grade quality/accuracy but it is hundreds of times more accurate than your eyeball and a tape measure :D

I think PE should also consider offering a 8" or 12" model for when working with the larger drivers.

      Re: D.o.t.d.

In every cheap digital caliper I have heard of/used, the power button only runs the display and the power drain is essentially constant. To avoid this one must remove the battery after use.

It would be nice to know if this one was different wrt power drain.

My harbor freight digital caliper was quite accurate when compared to a set of feeler gauges - and note that US pennies are IME 0.750 +/- 0.001 inches pretty reliably.

I prefer dial calipers due to the power drain issue.

        Re: D.o.t.d.

Only 6" is often so frustrating - I wish it was at least 8". When working with larger woofers where 8" wouldn't be enough I find that I don't need the precision of a digital caliper, a steel ruler is fine in those cases...

EDIT: Well, not to say that a 10" or 12" digital caliper wouldn't be nice...

Perhaps we can modify these and make D.I.Y. longer calipers? That would be sweet...
