I've had a Zune 30 for years and love it. When using it as a mobile device, I have hooked to a FiiO E7 (a great headphone amp/DAC) to a pair of modified JVC IEMs, sounds awesome.
I recently got a Zune Dock and hooked it up to my "Old School" Sansui AU-D9 which is driving my favorite DIY speakers, the TriTrix TLs and my Zune has never sounded better, ever! Some of the higher quality MP3 files are hard to tell that it isn't a CD playing. The really cool thing is that the Zune Dock comes with a wireless remote! Talk about the ultimate couch spud device! 25+ gigs of my music, most of which was ripped at a high bit rate. I might not need to get up off the couch unless nature calls or I get hungry or thirsty! Too bad the Zune doesn't play FLAC files.
My wife is not going to like this set up once she notices it! Or maybe she might, time will tell!
