Are these guys beer drinkers? Just curious if I should show up w/ a 12 pack (or more?)? Hate to do that and find out one of thems a speaker at AA or something like that!
Also can't wait to go to this Indiana thing! Be awesome to meet some of you guys as well! Plus they have a great skatepark in Fort Wayne!
Glad to hear you'll get the nickel tour- something I've been meaning to get up there and do. Can't say about the beverages on premises. It is a business.
As to the event- no alcohol is permitted. They have a 'no party' rule.

Thanks for the hard work again this year Wolf! I'll be there for sure with 2 pairs of bookshelf speakers and maybe a tower.
Dan
I put you down!

Well fellas- I didn't reserve any rooms for you guys.
I will contact Angie and see what's going on. I'd hate to have you all stay at another hotel than where this will be.
Stay tuned...

Spouses take note: the Vera Bradley sale is the same weekend, and I have to block out some rooms for InDIYana event attendees. This is why there is a reservation problem currently. (They have a 2-night-reserve-only, $159/night due to this upcoming sale, which normally sells out this hotel completely that weekend.)
BUT- we get a lower group rate! If the amount of people wanting reservations at the Hyatt will clear this number of rooms, accomodations will have to be made elsewhere. There is nothing I can do about that. I have to see if the number is okay with the Hyatt sales staff, and go from there. The bad part about this is that the ladies wanting handbags may sell out other hotels for that weekend too. Your best bet is to reserve as soon as possible.
I will update with how to make a reservation for our group as the clarifications are set in stone.
So- just hold off on a reservation for a couple days, and I'll post how to get the info and proceed.
Thank you for your patience!

The group rate is less than that, Maynard. The $159 is the regular price for that weekend if not in the group.

After I read my post it occurred to me that maybe I sound like a raging alchoholic. I'm not, just enjoy some beers every now and again :D!
I got over there today but unfortunately it wasn't until about 4:45 and he's only there til 5. He showed me around and showed me some of the speakers he's working on. I wanted to take a pic of these 3 ways he's building so I could show em here but didn't want to be weird (er). He said he'd call me when he got em done and I could come and listen. The xovers are insane! He's also got me torn between the Swopes and the Zaph 5.3c again. Tough decision!
He also said he's going to the InDIYana event and also asked if your name (Wolf) is Ben??

Yes- that's me. Mark and I converse quite often, and Joel is just really cool to hang around.
I think the Swope and 5.3C are in different classes- it's like Apples/oranges. I like the Swopes, and have heard them.

Shipshewanna is an hour away.....not too bad if you attend just one day, otherwise its an extra hour commute Friday pm and Sat am.
Marv
Marv- You're in Shipshe? I thought you were in Chicagoland. I was in Shipshe a couple weeks back for a dinner at the Blue Gate.
Saturday is the 'bigger' day, as more people come on the weekend.

I am in Chicagoland, but last year we checked out a hotel in Shipshe on the same weekend as InDIYana '11.......I was tempted to go the extra hour and drop in!
So this year I am considering staying a night in Shipshe and let my wife spend a day there if she isn't interested in 8 hours of speakerbuilders:p
I hope the bag ladies convention doesn't spill over to Shipshe and raise the lodging price there, too! :D
When I checked the Hyatt Place site, it showed available rooms for $174 for 1 night and a little cheaper for 2 nights. I wouldn't mind saving a couple bucks, but I also don't want to miss my opportunity to get a room there. Would it behoove us to reserve now, then "change" the reservation to the group deal when it gets set up? I wonder if that's even possible.
