Ben will have to verify of course, but I think you will be fine. Just be sure to have a way to hookup the amp. The speaker wire uses banana plugs so have a way to hook those up.

I was doing the same last year with my towers, but I forgot my adapters at home.

Yeah mine have active lowers too. They will accept the banana plugs, I just hope we have power within close proximity to the speakers.

I scoured the thread but couldn't find anything, what are the categories/price ranges? Are the prices just for components or finished? I'm a DIY get together virgin here!!

The InDIYana tradition is no competition and prizes are by drawing. Very laid back.

Very cool, I was kind of gathering that from the lack of info on it. Thanks maynard!

Just in case, you may want to bring an extension cord. I beleive the nearest wall outlet was about 15ft away.

I think there are maybe three of four people that will be disappointed to hear this (and I am once again bummed about not getting to shake a LOT of guys hands that I have been wanting to meet), but due to being unemployed for the past couple of months, and going to HVAC trade school, I officially will not be able to attend. :(

Getting myself set up for the future though, so there's always next year....

That sounds about right.....the rear wall (with the flat panel) has several outlets, but if we set up the same way as last year, an extension cord will be needed to reach it.

I have several lengths of heavy duty extension cords....I will bring a few for anyone to use.

Thanks Bryan, I don't have any spares laying around so I'm sure yours will get good use.

Go ahead and bring it- as that will also be the layout again for this year....

Thing is- having the gear up front makes people have to walk in front of them while playing, and it's a nuisance. This also places an object between them for a not-very absorptive center.

Having it at the side, means you have to have long speaker cables and possibly trip over them.

The source-preamp on the left allows easy DJing of the songs, and the amp in the middle up front allows easy defeat for swapping projects. You only need one set of cables from preamp to amps in between that can be tucked out of the way, and the speaker cables can be shorter and easier to manage.

I like this method best. We'll be using Rory's Marantz and ML No. 38 once again, with Matt's pair of Crown Com-Tech 1600's. We will not want for power.

Connection is via non-dual bananas. Please bring adapters if you will need them.

Tracks are 5 minutes of the house disc and 5 minutes of your own stuff. If you have not any of your own stuff with you, the house disc is 10 minutes long, and we'll play the whole thing. (I'm still narrowing these tracks down...)

And yes- this is show 'n' tell, not a competition.

I'm pretty sure this is all laid out in the webpage text, just in case anyone missed it.

Dirk, and Chuck, you are two of the people that I was hoping to meet as well (along with my boy Ben, and quite a few others), and have been for a while now. I'll get there eventually....;)

                            • Re-Re-Bump....

If you are considering coming and are on the 'maybe' list, I'd like to see your status changed.

Some of the sponsors like to know how many are coming, so other than knowing who'll be there for youselves, there are other reasons.

Oh- and Shawn will be there! I finally got ahold of the big-guy...

                              Later,

Wolf, I am going to be there and I have a friend coming along for the ride. He is into car audio and I'm trying to show him that audio is more than the size of your sub. ;)

Also I will be bringing a set of speakers; I'm just not sure if the new mltl boxes will be finished.
