Re: Top 6.5"-7" Mid-Woofers on the Market Right Now!!!

A more fun list, is "awesome 6.5" midwoofers (or dedicated mids) that OP missed" :D

    Exodus Anarchy
    Audiotechnology C-Quenze 18H
    Accuton C173
    Acoustic Elegance TD6H
    CSS SDX-7
    TAD SWX1034
PHL 1120 (is this the right one i'm thinking of?)
    Audax Aerogel 17cm
    wavecore wf18

See, when you tune out OP's stupid """""criteria"""" it ain't that bad.
:blues: Flat frequency response, a smooth sound power response free of resonance, careful driver-integration, and high dynamic range both upward and downward :blues:

If you'll peek a little closer at the "enormous following", I think you'll find that about 80% of the posts are ridiculing you for posting these ignorant lists.
      Good day...

It doesn't meet the size requirements, but it is correct to be excluded from the list... It does, however, meet every other requirement.
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Is that really one of the best midrange woofers available?

According to Zaph's tests, here are some of the best value/usable drivers:
                      Cheaper Drivers:
                      Fountek FW168
                      Seas CA18RLY
                      Seas CA18RNX

                      Costly:
                      Usher 8945A

                      Expensive:
                      Scan-Speak 18W8531G (revelator)

He likes the revelator better than the illuminator.
                      -Dan
Mandolin Curved Cabinet Floorstanding; Dayton Reference 18" sealed Subwoofer; Sealed 12" Dayton Reference Subwoofer ; Overnight Sensation builds

No, in fact I believe it to be one of the bigger rip-offs out there. However, according to the OP original requirements for inclusion on this list, the only thing it misses on is the OD.

Otherwise, it is living proof that rubber surrounds, shorting rings, stiff cones, cast frames, and a fancy brand name still means you better be prepared to do some testing before using.

djkest probably didnt see the threads describing how difficult that particular driver is. I wont say bad, because it may very well be salvageable with modifications.
