Re: (Not me) If someone wants to build an ultra-econo-econowave...
Gave em half an hour pumping 10Hz sinewaves at 50W.... not enough change in the parameters to mention. Qts is still in the "near useless" category....

bwaslo,
Please measure them again after a good break in period and let us know their T/S parameters. I have a half baked idea for drivers like these :D
Thanks

Re: (Not me) If someone wants to build an ultra-econo-econowave...
Edit:
Well, then again, not so much. Measured via WT3:
Re=6.832 (data sheet: 7.2)
Fs=35.66 (32)
Qts=0.796 (0.41)
Qes=0.942 (0.475)
Qms=5.149 (2.9)
Le=2.169 (1.37)
Vas=6.38cu ft = 181 ltrs. (232l)
They're still cold from being in the FEDEX truck, but don't think they'll change that much from warming up. Nice LOOKING woofer for $20, though. Maybe for an OB

If they live up to their spec sheet, a couple of those, a pair of the QSC waveguides, some D220ti drivers, and sealed 3cu ft boxes, xovers... could be some amazing and crazy efficient constant directivity speakers.
Edit: see follow-up post

If I wasn't lousy with drivers and projects right now... Maybe next year.

Those look like fun! Stick them in a couple of bass bins and they would go with the Sony buyout line arrays like peas and carrots!

Purchase code HMP100 nets you this for $20.
Posted response looks pretty swell to work with:
MCM also has a lot of their horn loaded mids and tweets on sale, too. Not my cup of tea but there have been a couple comments on the "Flex Your PCD Meddle" thread about this type of build...Tags: None
