  • Post the most beautiful builds you know of...

I've been searching through the forum, and the Google, for a build I saw a year ago that had the most beautiful detail work I had seen. Even the bracing that would never be seen again looked like artwork, and the crossover was mounted to the bracing in such a way that it was all shaped together. IF anyone has a link to this I would appreciate it(I know, very good description....). Also, I would love to see other builds that put extreme love and passion into the entire build. I know there are lots of great builds on this site, but I really want to see the above and beyond builds.

        Pete,

In the pictures showing the crossovers, is that another cap (the brown device) tied into the Clarity cap? Thanks.

          I believe it's a resistor.

I think the Origional Byzantiums are some of the most beautiful speakers I've ever seen. Anyone have some good pictures of those?

            Dan,

Very well could be a resistor, I just have not seen one like that before and what appears to be writing on it is to small for me to read.

Am I wrong in finding it strange that there's a male speakon connector in that pic? Wouldn't female be more appropriate? I ask mainly because the builder clearly knows what he's doing.

It looks to me like a high end Duelund resistor.
I installed some once as part of an extensive xover up grade for a customer who owned Polk SDA-SRS speakers (pic below).

Pete: what's that small blue thing with the black thing sticking out of it next to the Clarity Cap in your pictures? Is that a speakon connector the previous poster refers to?

I've worked with the F278 and the F228, and on both the attention to detail, every little detail, is absolutely astounding. Right down to the hydraulic dampers on the fallboard . . . the things are works of art.

And the sound is supurb . . .

I think Curts Singularities just look b-e-a-uuu-ti-ful. Even though it is a simple finish, I just love how thin they are.

The speakon is to attach to the wiring from the speaker on top of the stand to which these are the base/bottom. It's so they can be worked on and disconnected easily.

The brown cardboard thingy is a Duelund graphite resistor; not cheap; but nothing in there is.

                          Yes, that's a Duelund resistor.

And the blue connector is a Speakon 4 pole connector. IMO, they're superior to your standard 5 way binding post in most ways.

Wow, those little guys are even more than the vishay's I picked up for mine. As for the other items in the crossover they look to be very nice also.
