Here is the build thread.. The folks at avs forums had alot of fun on that build, good to see some people don't take life too seriously...

I ordered the driver, bought the wood, and will be starting the cutting this weekend. This will be a bit of an unusual build. Some will say that it will be ugly, but the wife has given her stamp of approval, and more importantly, I like it. It should be a nice step up from my current Titanic...

Thanks for the photo. I'm not gonna register just to see them.
Interesting that it's a down-fire app with such a large diameter.

Who was the leather baffle guy?????

Someone used to post on here that did leather covered baffles that were just beautiful. I think he used a lot of Scan Speak drivers.

You will have to wait a few months, but I'm working on a 3-way using the HDS tweeter, 8948A mid, and dual 8955A drivers. Design will look somewhat similar to those pictures. This is my next large project replacing my statements so expectations are high, but I have already used the drivers before and really liked them. Too bad the 8955A drivers are no longer available.

              here's one
first place in NYDIY 2011 in Under $200
I have a few more in my gallery.

Also I sugest limiting "Builds" to DIY designs and builds. Commercial designs while may be beautiful, are not "builds"

The first that come to my mind are that guy who cloned the B&W 802 with a CNC'ed translam, and that guy shinobiwan's builds over at diyaudio.
Isn't it about time we started answering rhetorical questions?

Not DIY, but...I mean...someone did it themselves. My fiance is a woodworker and wants to help build something that looks like this:

Fusing Eames lounge chair with Ray-Ban cool, the Davone Ray loudspeaker has already become a Danish design classic, yet it also achieves new levels of performance in the reproduction of the sound of music.

While we're at it, here's another non-DIY effort.

An apostrophe with an "s" does not mean plural.

                        Speaker's IS NOT PLURAL.

It's not a build per se but I saw these at RMAF last year and fell in love.

OK I'll bite, since the "high end retail" line has been crossed a few times with no objections.

Here's one of the Ekta builds from Treols Gravenson DIY website that I've always loved. Looks like the Sonus Faber Amati Homage.

Not sure where I found these pictures but if anyone has any information on them, it'd be great to know.
