What does he sell them for, I wander. $25k or so?

About that, a pair of JBL 4350's with early white cone woofers are selling for $28,000.

Kenrick Sound sells them restored from time to time, prepare to let your wallet take a beating or two

Forgive my ignorance, but what are they? I assume you're talking about the things that look like wall panels full of paper woofers... Any place I can read up on them?

JBL 4350.
You can look for info on Altec or JBL forums but this speaker is not easy to find and very expensive.

They are JBL 43xx not sure on exact model, awesome speakers.

I thought these were already on this thread, but I don't see them. They definitely deserve a spot here IMO, and they are a DIY build. Well partly outsourced anyway.

They are an all Accuton build right down to the PR's, and actively XO'd by DSP's. Skip to about 1:20 if you want to skip him showing off all his equipment:

I am jealous I wish I could hear a pair of those let alone rebuild them.

rebuilding them wasn't as much much fun as listening. These JBL are certainly in the class of their own. Big open dynamic sound and any SPL. Yet they were able to do finesse of the classical music just as good.

rebuilding them wasn't as much much fun as listening. These JBL are certainly in the class of their own. Big open dynamic sound and any SPL. Yet they were able to do finesse of the classical music just as good.

ShinOBIWAN's speakers and subs are some of the finest DIY work I have ever seen, the driver's were expensive as well. The last I heard he was starting his own company in the UK so I wish him a ton of success.

Someone has already mentioned it but I agree that PassingInterest's builds are always top notch. He just has a style and craftsmanship that is a genuine talent, he also has a knack for teaching as well, wish he had a TV show.

After being asked, "why did you make it ugly" by another forum member recently, your post just goes to show, everyone has an opinion.

I happen to share yours. I really need to finish them with a nice plinth.
