Dayton ND105-4 vs. Aura NS4-255

The Dayton looks as if it is a copy of the Aura, however the Bl is a bit less and Xmax is rated at 4mm whereas the Aura is 5.45. The Aura seems to be an all around better driver. Sensitivity is even better with the Aura at 84 dB/W vs. 82.6 for the Dayton. Both seem to have reasonably smooth response curves.

Neither has a thermally conductive former, polyimide for the Dayton and Kapton for the Aura.
Both have aluminum cones and it would seem logical to conduct the heat from the VC to the cone.

Has anyone done independent tests of these, or real world experience with them side by side?

I have a pair of the Aura's but have not done anything with them yet and I don't have the Dayton's to compare.

The ND-90/91 is Dayton's version of the Aura NS3-193-8/4. There are similar differences. The Dayton's play in a smaller box, but don't have quite the FR. From my search of the NS-4, it looks like things are similar on the Dayton. The Aura's should have a smoother low end FR (less "fish-hook") and be more flexible as to enclosure volume (ported). As a "micro-sub", or mini woofer, without full T/S parameters and simming it, I'm guessing the Aura will out-perform the Dayton. AFAIK, the Aura is NLA, or at least I couldn't find it for sale.

That's likely NOS. They have not been at Mad for about 4 years.
They are no longer manufactured.

That NS4 has the PITA frame that basically makes it impossible to front mount without a good weather strip or RTV gasket seal. I have a bunch of the NS35's...same thing....a bit smaller.

Those are not the same as what I have here I should have specified the dash number. These are the -4F with aluminum cones and no whizzer.

I didn't look at the link, and guessed that was what you had. Just like the NS3-193-8, but larger. Again- 4 years ago...
