  • Re: Official Iron Speaker Thread

I'm just glad to see that others are racing the clock as bad as I am. What is the drop dead date to have thes delivered? If all goes well I'm about two weeks out.

Yes, try to get them to me by the 1st. If you absolutely can't, I'll take them in at a later date, just be reasonable. If the speaker arrives at 5pm on 14th, I may not have time to measure it and it will not be participating. So, send them in as early as you can.

absolutely no rush Mike. I honestly don't even know if the patent is expired. Just want to play around at list as a DIY effort.

Mike, is the event open to non-contestants, and if it is do I need to register?
I may have missed the info in the thread and I did'nt see any info on the diy-ny
site about non-contestants. Would really like to attend, listen and learn.

Come on down! we need judges. If you are there, you are a judge... That is the rule. I will post a new post by this weekend, but there is also a swap-meet table there. We usually just chip in for pizza (it is NY afterall) for lunch, bring some drinks. Looking forward to having you there.

I'm all clear to be there and help judge and/or provide extra set of hands. I have no dog in this hunt but looking forward to this!

Don't want to hijack the thread, but could not attach image to PM - so feel free to delete post if needed.
Was chcking out the diy-ny page (nice layout btw) and saw a pic of these, the pair of floorstanders on the bottom; what, who, details? on them.

We're so close. Very excited to see what other people dream up.

I don't know if we're allowed to reveal this much, but what we have is fairly vanilla. But really surprisingly good for an easy <$200. Sometimes simple works right...

I hope lots of people take pics. I won't be there, just my partner.

Ours is less vanilla, more peanut butter at this point - yeah, my buddy is heading up while I work, if you can call it that...

Oh boy, peanut butter has such a creamy smooth sound that is oh so natural. Rum raisin will be tough competition as well. I can tell you guys are really bringing the flavor. I'm not sure classic vanilla is going to win over enough of the purists. ;)

Ah, the rules are killing me. I just want to spill the beans. Compare pictures and graphs. Ugh. When is the competition again :D

                                Hey Biff

Since the last xo change they are nice. Fourplay is stunning. I dont know how they measure but they sure sound good. (going out on a limb here). Pretty bad weather for pics. My wife waited on Capts. Wild Bill and Sig Hansen of "Deadliest Catch" today--they are here for our exceptional bill and tuna fishing tomorrow. They did not order snow crab legs but one in their party had crab cakes.
