Anyone use or test the 2" midrange tweeter buyout?
Re: Anyone use or test the 2" midrange tweeter buyout?
I can grab a couple in the morning and test this weekend.

Man! They are really small. Maybe I can whip up a little adapter for the test baffle.

That looks like fun! I showed my wife, she said we needed to get a new house with a fitness room, then I can build what ever I want! So that might be awhile. But she didn't say no! ;)
Probably use a Forstner bit - I would also be interested in seeing them rear mounted with a 1/2" bevel.
I am thinking rear mounted with a 1/2" roundover. I don't have a bevel bit. I also thought of using 2X, 2" pvc pipe with one at each end. Like the 14 driver $200 system that was at InDIYana last year, sorry I don't remember the name.

I'll give that a shot john.

Ah, yes. I have a ribbon tweeter that could go between the mids. I should look into that more. I can't find a write up on those, is there more info out there?

Not sure if there's a full write-up. I'm sure Dan would be willing to answer any questions you might have.

Re: Anyone use or test the 2" midrange tweeter buyout?
I am looking at these to build a cheap 3 way kit with the SAS Bazooka drivers on closeout... thinking 4 SAS drivers for midbass, two of these drivers per cabinet for midrange, and searching for a tweeter that will match well. This would be the fronts/center, surround would be two SAS drivers, two of these mids, and same tweeter. Can anyone suggest crossover values or a tweeter? I was thinking 750Hz/5kHz with these drivers. Looking to see what I can put together for a very strong front stage with some good attack on the midbass for a reasonable price. I may try these drivers in some other places as well. Thoughts on the surround are two forward facing midbass drivers in a slim cabinet with a midrange and tweeter on each side in a dipole arrangement. Should be able to keep cabinet for rears at only around 3.5 inches deep and 7 inches wide, and will adjust height to get the airspace I need for the midbass.
Front/Center driver layout, WWMTMWW
Rear, two woofers forward firing, mid/tweeter side firing on each side (total two woofers, two mids, two tweeters per cabinet).
