No, those little boxes are the MAGNETS. I have to put the woofers together. They come in two boxes to keep from busting the frames in transit. Some of those boxes are passive radiators. No more info for now, untill I have subs ready. Except for one more teaser - a Continuum subwoofer - designed to fit the philosophy behind the Continuum and create a small fullrange reference system.

Re: Sensitivity of Continuum, Jeff please explain..

                          Jeff,

As you are aware I built the Continuum designed by you, thanks. During the course of my listening of these speakers, I found it to be not that efficient(note), I read somewhere you quoted it as about 84dB SPL. I felt that it is far lower than that, so I measure it against drivers of known SPL to me. I measured the Usher 8945(about 88dB) and GRresearch, M130(89dB) {both measured in a box} and then the Continuum, gated the measured SPL is 6-7dB below the Usher and GR-M130, which suggests it is about 81-82dB efficient.

Is this correct or am I imagining it?

Note - I cannot drive it to a loud level even with 40 or 80Watt amp. The sound is very accurate, but the sound is rather constraint, I think it because of its inefficiency. I read somewhere that the AC130F1's spl spec. is not really 89dB as quoted in their spec. sheet, someone says it is only 86dB, is this correct? If it is correct then that will explain the low efficiency I measured.

                          An explanation is welcomed.
