Probably, but without testing at that level you'll never know for sure. Suffice to say it's sized correctly for your build, and that the 25W would really be overkill and probably not worth it at double the cost.

The Edcor GSXE does reach 40HZ-18K at full rated power. They don't drop like a rock after that, but a few db down at 30-20Khz. 20Hz is a bit of a different story with really bumpy looking sine waves.

I suspect if you purchased the 25W version of this output transformer and installed it on one channel and left the GSXE on the other, you would be hard pressed to pick the channel with the bigger transformer.

You also saved a ton of cash in the process. It's a bench amp right

Thanks AJ and Blair! I feel much relieved. Absolutely right. It is just a bench amp that will probably spend 99% of the time producing a watt or two. It's just so surprising how little these guys look compared to the power tranny. Even the EL34's will tower over them

On a side note: The powered coating Edcor uses on their end bells is some serious tough stuff! I tried to bead blast it off (tested on the inside first) and it took a ton of effort just to remove a quarter sized spot. On the flip side I was able to completely strip the paint off the Hammond end bells in about 5 mins. So I'm going to only scuff off the shine on the Edcor's with sandpaper, wipe down, then hit them with some high temp. paint.

For future reference, you can ask Edcor for grey vs. blue.

I just buff them with steel wool and use my favorite fizz bomb paint. They will not get too hot unless the are really close to the tubes.

I was able to get the end bells painted last night. Hopefully I can get the transformers put back together tonight and mounted. I'll post pictures if I do.

Just the output transformer wiring and possibly the R-C-D-D between the earth/chassis ground and the power supply/signal ground.
