Thought of a much easier solution to hold the big power supply caps in place. Just bought some fender washers and marked the appropriate dimension:
Then clamped them in my vice. The hammer took care of the bending:
Now the machine screws are nice and perpendicular to the top plate and the caps are firmly secured:
Maybe not as cool as custom fabricating retaining clips... but hey, the fender washers were $0.07 each and it only took ten minutes to mark, bend, and install
nice Craig. thank the wife for bringing back the good camera.

I finished the input AC power wiring. Here are a couple of photos:
In the second picture you can see the two most important things you need to do when building a tube amp or any AC powered project, the ground wire directly to the chasis with a star washer and of course the properly sized fuse!
Is there any way you can get a nylon bushing/grommet or some other softer material for the hole where the wires come through the chassis? I'd hate to see the aluminum eat its way through the insulation over time.
Maybe slip some tech flex or heat shrink tubing over the wire bundle as it comes through the hole.
Thanks for the suggestion Pete. I have always used rubber grommets for through holes in the past. But I've got this new reaming/deburing tool that leaves the hole smooth as glass. Absolutely no sharp edges. The picture does not do the smoothness of the hole justice. But if it were in an automotive or aircraft project where vibration/chafing was a concern then I would certainly incorporate some added insulation/protection.
Are those the ASC Oil caps from Angela? Try them in a xover sometime....

OK...so one guy appears to have straight leads and you have nicely twisted leads....so now I have more questions. Sorry to pollute your sweet build thread, but in tube amp wiring, are we concerned about twisted leads vs. straight leads?
