Despite some wistful memories it brings back, the mention of it had me drop the stylus on "Red Headed Stranger". After 38 years, it's stood the test of time with "DSOTM", "The White Album(s)", "Lonely Guy" (Frank Sinatra, EPIC), "Walk, Don't Run" (The Ventures), "Buddy Holly and the Crickettes", "Whaling Stories" by Procol, Harem and Whitehorse, "Days of Future Passed"-The Moody Blues (in Quad, thank you), "Last Date"-Floyd Cramer, "Long Gone Lonesome Blues"-Hank Williams Sr. and "Waltz Across Texas"-The Original E.T. I could throw in Bob Marley and the Wailers too, and "Electric Ladyland" as well as "Face the Music".
Add nearly a half-Century and I've got Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Jimmie Durante, Rudy Vallie, and at least three more covering "About a Quarter 'til Nine". A shameless plug for my all-time favorite musical: Book, lyrics, dances, to perform in pit orchestra and to watch all three film versions and read the novel, Edna Ferber/ Jerome Kern's "Showboat!" The 1980 version of "Fame" was the last REAL Hollywood musical I guess there ever will be. I REALLY liked musicals. My second favorite was Yul Brenner in "The King and I".
    Nite girls!

I don't do it often, mainly because like 8 of my wife's songs will come up in a row and I'll start looking for a piece of rope or something. I really need to delete all her stuff "accidentally". I could probably figure out some way to blame the 4 year old.

Yeah, he absolutely melts my mind. I wish I could have had a picture of my face when my bass instructor from a few years ago plopped the chart for Teen Town in front of me and said "this is what we're gonna do next". My response to that is filter fodder here but I still (try) to practice it. I still suck at playing it but the challenge is great fun for the S&M bassist. And to think he played fretless................

I had a hell of a time trying to figure out how Zawinul was getting those bends out of his keyboard in the first 30 seconds or so. When I saw a video of the song played live, I had to pick my jaw off the keyboard, seeing that it was Jaco playing those licks on the bass. What a ridiculously talented dude, and what a loss to the music world when he died.:(

Yes, its hard to peg her because she covers a wide range of styles. I went with JPOP simply because a lot of her anime OP/ED songs are, but she has everything from techno to classical under belt, mmm. Thanks for the link, MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is crazy fun!
