    Re: Do I need Psychotherapy?

I think you are completely normal. After all, this i why I ripped everything i own to my server. In my house my kids, the missus, and I listen to foobar set to random all weekend long-the site of my 2 and 6 year rocking out to "Managua, Nicaragua" and then bounce around to "SuperBass" is one of the greatest moments I know

I listen and enjoy all that stuff too plus got a noise complaint for "relentless yodelling and accordioning" from one of my neighbors. Maybe I'm even more crazy?

(I just found out on Sunday that my wife never heard of Meatloaf! :eek

I agree, owning a Meatloaf CD is cause for concern.

Considering the sheer number of musical loonies we have around here, I am not sure this is the place to ask. We will simply confirm your diagnosis then tell you that you are fine just like the rest of us.

btw, I recognize all but maybe one of those albums.and I am working on setting up two systems myself, that of course is because of you. at least that is what I told my wife.

Took my daughter back to college last Sunday after her spring break. She refused to listen to my iPod in the car (all classic jazz) and insisted we listen to her iPod's play list. Her play list alternated between some kind of heavy rap and The Dixie Chicks. She sang along to both happy as a clam, I came away seriously confused.

My musical collection mirrors your substantially, that is you and I seem to like many of the same. You just need to add some Jimi Hendrix to your list, then you'll know for sure that you are sane!

This isn't my collection though, it's just one arbitrary stack that structured itself out of the random chaos of my psyche and its musical cravings. I mean seriously, who has Meat Loaf and Bridgit Mendler, Led Zeppelin and Nora Jones, all in one stack?

You do need help though. You are trying to cover up your speaker addiction :p :D

    Do I need Psychotherapy?

On top of my entertainment center are stacks of CD’s that I have been listening too lately. Every now and then I go through them and put them away, and then the stacks start all over again. Earlier I was walking by and noticed one of the stacks (there are several, actually) and it occurred to me that the combination of CD’s in that stack caught me as humorously (or disturbingly) odd, and I wondered what this must say about my personality. Here’s the actual list of artists / albums in that particular stack in the order they were stacked:

    Led Zeppelin –Celebration Day
    Gabe Dixon – One Spark
    Sheryl Crow – Icon
Norah Jones – Feels Like Home
Meat Loaf - The Very Best
Jeff Beck – Emotion and Commotion
Spyro Gyra – The Deep End
    Weather Report – Heavy Weather
Chris Tomlin – Not to Us
Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band – Nine Tonight
Bridgit Mendler – Hello My Name is
Flim and the BB’s – New Pants
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers – Greatest Hits
    Head East – Live
    B. B. King and Eric Clapton – Riding With The King
Toby Mac – Eye On It
    10,000 Maniacs – Unplugged
    Herbie Hancock – Head Hunters
    Bob James – Ivory Coast
Donna Lewis – Now In A Minute
    Vince Guaraldi – The Definitive
Larry Carlton – Live In Tokyo

Well, there you go. That’s the actual list of the stack I just looked at. No kiddin’.

I am probably the only person here would listen to all of this music and enjoy it (or even knows what all of it is :rolleyes.

So, should I seek psychotherapy or does this simply reveal that I am a person of incredibly well-rounded and diverse musical tastes, maybe even a true renaissance man?

Either way, now you know why I have two complete systems (amps and speakers) connected to the same preamp and DAC.:D

Oh man, I hope MaynardG doesn’t see this post…..;)
