Acoustic Development Tres in Hot Springs, Arkansas
Will be held on the campus of the Arkansas School of Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts (ASMSA). The school is located at the edge of downtown Hot Springs National Park within walking distance of Bath House Row, restaurants and entertainment. The Hot Springs Music Festival will be in full swing offering different venues of music during the weekend. We moved to June on the request of participants so in the evenings they can not only talk about music reproduction but attend live musical performances. The Springs Hotel is where the school houses its visitors and it is literally across the street. Their phone number is (501) 624-5521 and web site www.thespringshotelandspa.com
The Meet
It is a pretty low key event. Everyone brings what they want to show off and listen to. Speakers and amps of all kinds usually make the trek. We give everyone a chance to demo their equipment and we usually have a conversation or two on construction and materials. Designs are often shared. We usually unload Friday and head out for dinner. Saturday we set up and start playing. We go out for lunch and come back for an afternoon session. Saturday evening is out on the town. The Music Festival will be here so there will be plenty of options. Sunday we usually wray up and by Noon people are heading home.
Extras
We have a place that can sharpen router bits, usually around $8.00 quite a bit cheaper than buying new one. If you were coming into town you could mail them ahead of time and pick them up when you arrive. The address is GB Services at 808 East Grand Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71901. Toll free number is (800) 238-3564 if you want to inquire. That is about a ½ mile from ASMSA.
Miracle Electronics is a second time around stereo shop in town. Some nice equipment and if you are looking for a turntable he has some buys. There is also a huge collection of vinyl albums. It is located at 203A Pleasant Street, Hot Springs AR 71902. It is located about ¼ mile away from campus. The phone is (501) 538-6930.
I don’t have anything to do with either financially other than I have been their customer and found their services fair and reasonable.
