  • OT (injury) If I've told you once, I've told you 10,000 times!

    Watch where you're going, Richards!

Out in the yard yesterday evening, getting the truck ready to go fishing. Stood up, turned around and piled straight into the open passenger door. The cuts are from the frame of my (deceased) glasses.

It is swollen 1/2 shut today and I have a heckuva shiner. I used to box, and I did fifteen years of martial arts - and this was as at least as hard as I have ever been hit. I suffered many broken noses, one fractured cheekbone, and a couple of concussions - and if I were not wearing my glasses this time, it would have broken my cheekbone and most likely damaged the eye itself. My lens hit the edge of the door straight on with all 225lbs of me behind it. Two more scars for the coroner! I also need a shave and a haircut.

(Thread title is a pun on my post count - this one makes 10k for me)
Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Ouch! You know what they say? Most accidents happen around the home.

So I guess you are now officially part of the "Obsessed and Proud Of It crowd?"

Wow. Sorry to see that. Did you still go fishing?

I'm glad I didn't see the tablesaw injury I was expecting from the title....

Do you have hardware in your face from the previous cheekbone fracture? I fix those from time to time and they can be pretty messy.

No alcohol involved, still went fishing.

Sorry. The photo didn't show up the first time I looked at this thread for some reason.

I caught a couple of catfish, nice eating size. Had to cut it short, though. Pain finally caught up with me about 11:00 PM.

One of my old instructors had some hardware in his left cheek - his was shattered, mine was fractured in two places but othewise not displaced too much. He got to carry a card with him so he could get on airplanes.

                              Lowell, I never learn

Kenny, had I been drinking that door might not have been open...

Don - it was definitely a circular movement that got me - plus pushing off of my back leg.
