Yes, Indiana. Kokomo, actually. The InDIYana gathering is in April and I didn't want to interfere with that. Plus I was really planning to try to do this yet this year. I just forgot about Iowa. November shouldn't be scary. We don't usually get bad weather that early here. Sure, it's possible, but the risk is low.

I'd go along with this; sometime in the spring. I think November would be tough to make for me. I don't know if it's feasible, but would there be any way to tie it into InDIYana?

Need to discuss timing. I see that the Iowa gathering is in mid October, so I am assuming that if I selected any time close to that it would really interfere with the ability of a lot of midwest guys being able to make it. Is that correct? If so, when do you guys feel would be a good time frame to target? I'd like to hear from people who feel they would actually try attend if they could.

    Jeff,
This is a great idea, and I wish I lived closer. Google hangout would work.

You could start a series - something akin to Kahn academy. Start with fundamentals. Work through various tools and the important details regarding their use.

I've actually believed that this could be one of the missing links for audio DIY to a point. Check you tube- tons of people pushing woofers to xmax but few conveying design theory.

I'd be willing to help with some post processing of video if you do...

it's a bit of a drive, but i would love to make it!

Would be good to see things in practice without guessing if it's being done right!

    Hi Jeff,

I've held off jumping to this thread until it was clear what you have in mind. I would like to try to attend, if I can get away for the weekend. I'll be looking for dates and location in case I can take a commercial flight. Thanks for offering to do this. As a fan of PCD I look forward to filling in the gaps in my understanding.

Sounds like a great idea, really. I would only suggest that it takes place during the warmer seasons, as northern Indiana winter weather doesn't bode well for long distance drivers!

Perhaps you should start a new thread. I'm sure after Jeff gets done with his seminar he would have some good pointers.

Let me know if you need help, Jeff. I would be glad to help as needed, or even provide my own input if required. This is your show, so I'll bu++ out if you tell me to...:-)

Others have asked me privately for this kind of thing at my InDIYana, but feasibility is never an easy thing with everything else going on. I'm sure it will be anticipated highly!
    Later,
    Wolf

I also think this is a brilliant idea, and you know I will be there.

In addition, i dont think trying to make a video of it is a great idea either. It needs to be more loose than that, with the ability to go in any direction necessary as many of you have said already.

I think you have made a wise choice Jeff. The most fun and effective presentations I have given were to smaller groups of technicians where we could interact one-on-one and add/remove material as needed. The larger the group the less wiggle room to customize or tailer fit material to the audience. And with really large groups fielding questions becomes problematic at best. Hence the "hold all questions until the end" requests.

Congrats to you and your wife!! I will figure out what looks promising. I doubt it can come together real fast, and I still need to check on a couple of things before I can get rolling. If you can make it when the time comes, wonderful. If you can't, then we all understand. Your family needs to come first.
