  • I'll probably regret this...

I'm not one to toot my own horn, really. I'm very appreciative of all the help I've gotten from many of our fellow DIYers, but I'm equally proud of what I've been able to do in return. So, I've attached copies of the review in the September issue of TAS about the Bud Fried Tower Loudspeaker, the ML-TL for which I designed. Please excuse the indifferent quality of the attachments as that's the best my cheap 3-in-1 device could do. If they aren't adequately legible on your screen, printing them out should work pretty well. I'm very flattered and honored to have had my name mentioned as a contributor to a speaker design that's been positively reviewed in a major audio magazine, something I had never envisioned would happen when I first started tinkering with speaker building in the late-'90s.

Thanks, Dave. I've been vacillating on this for over a week.

Don't know why you would regret it. I'd be a proud dad too if I were you.
As you know I'm a big fan of Buds designs and I know I'll be in touch with you when I can afford to do my subs to match my c3ls.
I saw that Salk is now making them. I live 2 hours away from where they use to be made and always wanted to visit. Should have done so sooner.
Anyway, congrats. I'm looking forward to reading the review. I'll have to try and find it on TAS's site. It is a little hard to read here for these old eyes.

Thanks, Richard. If you left click on either page, then left click again, you will then be able to increase its size even more and make it completely legible.

Thanks mucho. I'm just wary of potential comments about ego, etc.

                    Re: I'll probably regret this...

I would think a little needling about ego would be a welcome break from Wolf's taunting with respect to demo music choices and asthetics :D

Seriously, congratulations! Reviews like this for one of our own help legitimize the hobby as a whole. There's nothing at all to regret.

Very nice! Now in regards to cabinet looks, I really like those in the picture. That is on my preferece list. Also, 2995 each or pair?

                        Congrats Paul,
We work very hard in this hobby, and we bout a lot of ourselfves into the projects we do. When you get unsolicited, and real feedback you should feel good as we are our own worst critics and it is rare we can get an honest gague of what we do and what another professional may think of it.

                        You deserve it!

You realize we will have take away your DIY badge and you will have to compete in the pro category;) Takes a lot of pressure of some of us amateurs at least. We may still let you hang out with us providing you still want to.

See Paul, apparently someone else thinks you are doing something right with your cabs, and it should inflate the ego a little. not like Viagra inflate, but maybe Cialis. hey Scott get off Wolf, I agree with the demo music are you going to be in Iowa ? hope to se you there.

Yeah Paul - big kudos! Had this in the little library for a while now, your cab tuning, Dennis XO and good drivers should sound great. Keep up the good work!
