  • Dayton Audio UMM-6 USB Measurement Mic - calibration fixed?

So, I ordered one of these USB mics to make it easier to measure with my laptop, or if go to somebody else's house to measure, etc. If it works well, then it looks like a wonderful product at a good price.

I do however, have a lingering concern after the calibration fiasco with Dayton's previous mics where it seemed that for the most part, the calibrations were basically useless, or worse in that they give you a false confidence.

I saw that the USB mics were out of stock for a while. I'm hoping that the reason for that was to fix the calibration systems and get us mics with proper accurate calibrations? Anybody have the inside scoop on this?

Here is where I first asked about the calibration of the UMM-6 specifically in 2013, got no reply. I searched and found that there are at least 7 - 8 threads with people either asking about, or pointing out problems regarding PE/Dayton's microphone calibration, I don't know yet how many years they go back. I guess I'll keep looking. But I did not find a single response from Parts Express in any of these threads, started by at least half a dozen different members over a period of at least several years?
