65 miles and I still need to put a finish on my speakers, they just sound so good that I don't want to take them apart.

          Re: Grinnell or Bust

I've made some progress. All the tear out has been filled and sanded. The veneer has been cut and one set of small boxes have a coat of glue on them. I've started to put some ribs in the sides of the large boxes to fasten some cross bracing to. This afternoon I was trying to finish up converting some 5/4 cherry into trim for the corners. I don't have a joiner but discovered that a good router table with a 1/2" shank 1 1/2 inch flush trim bit works very well to clean up the saw marks.

That saw dust works good for oil clean up or fire pits.

If Craig K comes, he will travel a bit further, and to be truthful, I am complaining more than I'm bragging because it really is a long drive, one that is made twice in 3 days with a pretty hectic and tiring day in between for the event. It should be an interesting DIY event because it will be the first one my wife has ever gone to (I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's her last one, too!).

My guess is that your wife is every bit as charming as you are! She'll love it and be at all the shows in the future.

Yea,,,, I'm biased,,, but really, what's not to like? Nice people and good music.

At the DIY in Chicago a few years ago some of the wives picked up some of the top door prizes IIRC. My wife might make the trip this time.

Fill up your car with peeps, cuz it's looking like there's about two door prizes per person. WTG, JR and Bryan!

Don't listen to me - I have not sold any $150,000 speakers.

Yeah, but the must be present to win is an issue for my navigator.

You guys who get two's need to share, or let or organizers get some love.

I wasn't advocating prize hoarding, more like acknowledging the fantastic work the guys have done in lining up sponsors and prizes. Cheryle has come to these events before and now it's time to introduce my son to this. He's moderately interested in what we're doing...well, at least when I can break him away from the video games anyway.
