Ron - Worst case scenario you can perhaps tune UE at the hotel?? There will be lots of ears at the informal listening session on Friday night.

Bohdan has published enough information that you can get up and running in a day or two, probably.

    Thanks guys.

I did the cutouts for the binding post plates and now I'm sanding sanding sanding..... I hope UE is easy to set up since the weekend is coming and I'll have to probably load up Thursday night. Wednesday morning they're going to start tearing up the street so I probably won't have quiet in the daytime to measure.

I put the big chamfer on the woofer cabinets and worked on the internal bracing. I finished making the custom cherry binding post plates.

I put a big 45 degree chamfer on the MT cabinets and started putting on the oil finish. I got tracking on the router bit I ordered to do the tweeter rebates with and it's shipped from Salt Lake City so I'm hopeful I'll get it early next week. Did I tell you I love the monster Bosch router I found at the pawn shop for $80. It's a joy to work with.

More progress. The sides are on the woofer boxes and I've started trimming the cherry trim. I made templates for the tweeter and mid rebates and done the mids. I ran into a snag on the tweeter rebates in that the tweeters are metric and have a smaller radius corner than my 1/2" router bit will cut. The tweeter won't just drop in and I can't see a quick way to fix it so I ordered a smaller radius top bearing bit. The tweeters may not be flush mounted in time for Grinnell.

WOW, I could not get a corner to look that good even if it was a CNC mitered lap joint.

    Very Nice :applause:

Spent the day trimming the solid trim flush with the veneer and sanding on the panels until my hands gave out. Two big panels left to do tomorrow. I glued one of the sides on tonight.

It's a great saw but the top gets no special care. I've taken a stone to it on occasion when my wife has run something abrasive through it and roughed up the surface but that really hasn't changed the surface color which has always been aluminum. I've managed to do this whole build with this saw, a Bosch router table and a jig saw.
