    Need Help Grasping Crossover Design

    I am building a 2-way with the Dayton DA135-8 and the Vifa D27TG35-06
    I am having trouble designing a crossover for them. If anyone could give me some tips or help me design a crossover that will not fatigue my ears with a pretty flat response. Thanks to anyone who may read this and respond.

    Did you have a reason for selecting these driver types? The woofer is only 85 dbs and the tweeter is 92 dbs which you are going to have to pad the tweeter a lot. Do you have an idea of what you are looking for in your design, size, range, and application. Sounds like a broken record around here but there are several designs that are available as kits or that others have published that can start you in the right direction.
    If we all reacted the same way, we'd be predictable, and there's always more than one way to view a situation.

      The size is .45 cubic feet to get pretty descent bass from the speaker. I have a sub so I do not really need to worry about deep bass. What I am really looking for is a good midrange from these speakers. Thanks for responding!

          The da135 is a nice driver, but to match it with that vifa I would be inclined to do an mtm in about .8 cubes. Another tweeter option is the tb 28-537sh. the sensitivity is a little lower than advertised so it won't need as much padding.

            I dont know that i can be any help. But if you can give some more detail on what you have tried, and what you are using to come up with your xo then someeone may be able to get you headimg in the right direction.

              I used those in || with the TB 25-1166, PROBably crossed in the 2k to 2.5k range.

              The low pass used a 1.2mH series coil (0.7 ohm DCR) and a 47uF shunt cap. Woofs were in a sealed and stuffed 0.31 cf box. And these were a 4 ohm load.

              For a single, that'd equate to a 2.4mH coil and a 24uF cap.
