Please don't perpetuate misunderstanding of global warming... When energy from the sun is kept instead of being reflected/radiated out into space, our planet becomes hotter on average. However, parts of the planet at a time will feel bigger temperature swings and weather systems as everything becomes more "active" because of entropy. So, global warming means bigger snow storms, hurricanes, tornadoes, temperature swings...etc.
Unquote.
And Entropy just isn't what it used to be.
I have seen -60 in Michigan, and my Sister once sent a pic of the thermometer on her back porch, the needle was pegged at -60, she said 'the outside temp is -85, the wind chill is -110 and her husband was out camping in a tent north of the Arctic Circle on 'mobility exercises' for the Air Force. They were stationed about 30 miles outside of Fairbanks at the time. And ,yes, spit CAN freeze before it hits the ground.

Global warming means anything the hoaxers want it to mean.

Re: So this is what the north pole feels like?
I'm down here in S. Indiana, about 70 miles west of Louisville, just north of the Ohio River. When I checked the thermostat an hour or so ago the temp was right at -5 in the shade. I think another couple days of this frigid cold then a slow warm up to high teens according to the forecasters.
My greyhounds don't even like to go out and take care of business. They come back on the porch and all their teeth are chattering. They ain't built for this weather. At least we don't have but a couple inches of snow to deal with.

I remember back in the '80's, we had a low of -25F, with wind chill of -56F here in StL. This current cold snap is nothing compared to that one.R = h/(2*pi*m*c) and don't you forget it! || Periodic Table as redrawn by Marshall Freerks and Ignatius Schumacher || King Crimson Radio

My car said -14 on my way home from work. Home in the western burbs of Chicago, -9! Shoveled part of my driveway but only "Part" of it. The wind made me get inside! I've seen worse. Although not by much. Looking forward to the weekend cause they're saying it'll get up to 32 on Saturday.
Be careful out there everyone! Unprotected flesh can freeze in less than 5 minutes!!!

Re: So this is what the north pole feels like?
It was 42 and raining at midnight. Got up this morning and it was 15. By the time I got off work it was 1. I am building a deck out over the lake on one of my jobs. I was out in it all day. I hate when you have to use a sledge hammer to break your pile of lumber apart. Tomorrow I'll be inside the boathouse framing. I can at least through a heater in there. So all you guys quit whining about the weather.
