  • Re: InDIYana 2014 Prelim Thread....

Anyone in the Chicagoland area wanna come over and finish these for me? I have speaker builder fatigue. Knowing me, I'll be screwing in the drivers on Friday morning while JR and Tony are on the train heading into downtown.

    Procrastination rocks.

The trip would have been 1617 miles. AND WORTH IT! Until..

Since the Corellia's (Eton Symphony and DXT) were done acoustically and since I have to work the weekend of the Sioux Falls DIY and NoCal was cancelled, I thought I'd try to hit InDIYana this year. THEN I found out what they charge you if you attempt to rent a car and you don't have a credit card. -- Large deposit, more $$ per day, mileage is no longer free, a hold on the debit account.. OUCH!!!

But the speakers in their unfinished boxes are on the way. I hope you guys enjoy them. =)
For some reason I can't get onto the Meniscus forum to see your PM, but I see your conundrum here.

I hear that. Well in my case it was more finding out that I can go at the last minute. I stayed up late last night and finished building the final crossovers for the Jonquils. I'll get them installed tonight and then be measuring and listening tomorrow night to make sure nothing changed from the alligator clippy prototypes.

I finished sanding the naked Fenghuang speakers in prep for the event, next is paint-prep.
I have to swap a resistor, and then reinstall the woofers.

They look considerably different than they did in KY last fall. Ludicrosity indeed- no pics 'til Friday!
(Why am I always finishing a project at the last minute??)

Seems the theme is more "last minute"! I have mine voiced, I will solder up the crossovers tomorrow. Have to fix a woofer hole I undersized. No finish on them, but they SHOULD be there. Oh yeah, and running out to meet up with Lowell (Arlis) at 11pm tonight LOL!!

I've been looking for flaws for a month. I've resprayed the baffle and changed the BSC. Almost took apart the tweeter. Maybe I should have waited until the last minute...

I'm looking forward to it. I've not heard the eclipse woofer.

Almost had someone come from California, too... ah, well maybe next year. On second thought, that would probably depend if active crossover ludicrosity was allowed in the house.
