90 to 30 for me. There are some stoplights but the speed limit is 55mph and 65mph in spots IIRC. Never had a problem making the trip in around 3 hours. I noticed there is some construction on 80/90 (according to Google) around Elkhart and it's definitely the longer route, but without stoplights.
BTW- the toll booths in Indiana just over the Illinois border (as of last year) all have gates. That means that if you do not have an I-Pass, you're gonna have to pay. In Illinois, as long as your license plate is registered (with I-Pass), you can fly thru a gateless ipass toll and your account will be billed automatically. The same DOES NOT apply in Indiana.
This is very true! The first time I drove up your way I missed the toll once because I didn't know it was there. I'm used to how it is here.
Later,
Wolf
You could also get off at the Laporte exit and take 6 to 31 to 30. Avoid any construction and its only about 1-1/2 from there. I'm planning on leaving from my place around 6-7am. Don't forget the time difference!

Do you take Hwy 30 across Indiana to get to Fort Wanye or is it better to stay on 80/90 and take 69 down? I don't mind the country roads as long as there aren't dozens of stop lights.

Sounds like a plan! I can probably make a plug by then however i dont have a terminal cup to mount the switch too. I might buy some of those speakon connectors and mount the xover on the stand with a separate box with the switch and plug.
Ill look into what songs will be played and if i need to bring any. I told Kanemack i wouldnt be able to make it so he may have nailed down plans already. I get in touch with him this week.
Okay, i talked the wife into moving our little vacation into june so I can actually go to this. If anyone in the chicagoland-ish area wants to carpool (i drive), split gas (u drive) and hotel give me a hollar! I have an equinox i can use to fit some builds if necessary. Do i need to let anyone else know or pay to be a spectator?
I could bring my finalists but i assume they wouldnt sound great in the middle of a room since i didnt build the plug or use the switch on the crossover. They are open mid tunnel only.
Bring 'em. I've not heard them yet, and you may be surprised as to how they sound.
I will say though we're at 37, and if that hits 40, it will be hard getting them all in. There are always a couple pair that are unregistered, which is why I do the number thing. Kanemack is coming down, and I know you know him. No charge for admittance, with or without speakers.

I have a room at the Hyatt Place and will be bringing both the Starfire and Jupiter V, in whatever state they may be in at that time (hoping for completed!) Both designs have posts on this forum, though the Starfire one is in a bad need of update. Perhaps I can make time this week for that! Looking forward to hearing some great speakers and drinking more than I should!
