Guy on "Woodnet" wants to buy some speakers ~$500

"I'm enjoying my Qinpu tube amp quite a bit but need some upgraded speakers. The amp is 16 watts max so I'm looking for something fairly efficient. Bookshelf sized would be best. Most important is accurate sound. I'm not into heavy bass so that is not a consideration.

I'm long out of the stereo world so I have no knowledge of what is currently good or bad.

Price is up to $500.

I'm referring him to the classifieds here but I'll be someone has an underused set that could save him from commercial speakers.

Lol, that's a real POS speaker. I've heard them. those are arguably the worst speakers you can get for the money. Klipsch may sound okay once you hit $500 mark, but their BOTL stuff is godawful.

I have that same amp and it drives my ZD5s just fine (80hz and up).

Well, his loss I guess. This is a very well build cabinet with a nicely design crossover. Took first place in 2010 NY DIY in a $200 class. ProAc version of the Vifa has a Neo motor with some improvement of the 3rd order around 2khz. Fountek while not having same power handling ability as Seas Excel is quite good in every other respect.
But anyway. People buy brands. This is whats been going on more and more and the only people who don't care about buying brands are these who create them.

Roman, how much would those cost me shipped to 78114? Maybe I can scrape the funds together. Or maybe we can work out some kind of trade... unused audio drivers or ammunition?

Probably around $45.
No need for ammunition. Firearms are uncommon in NYC and I don't own one. But the drivers sound good. I am open to a trade. PM me.
