If only that wasn't faked, it would be really cool (get it? cool?)

No way that drone can pick up a 6 pack of beer, much less a 12 pack.

Hey Honey, I'm sending the drone down to the deli for a six. Do you need anything?

          Re: OT: Beer Drone

if you look at the image at 13 seconds into the video you can clearly see the beer in the box. if you go to 26 seconds into the video where the box is just lifting off, you can see the white of the door through the handle holes. I have looked at many a case of beer, strictly in a research setting, and a box like that is full to the top, you can not see through the box, the cans block the view. I like the video though.

It is just that I have a long standing relationship with beer products.

That doesn't change the physics of lifting something as heavy as a 6 pack of beer with that little drone.

Sorry, it just doesn't have the lifting capacity. An empty box for a cute commercial is well within its capacity though.

I thought it was a promotional hoax, but then why would the FAA get involved with something that doesn't exist?

Actually it's true. The beer is brewed here in Wisconsin (Stevens Point), and yes that little drone was fully capable. They brew it for a Minnesota company that wanted to deliver it to ice fisherman as part of a promotional effort.

Pete, we're pretty dang serious about our beer and distribution systems here in the Badger State and are more than willing to share that love with our neighbors.
