  • The Uluwatu - another new Curt C design?!

I may be late to this, but has anyone else seen this design?

    http://speakerdesignworks.com/SB6pakproject_1.html

As a man who always wanted a pair of Stens but couldnt make it happen, these would be a dream come true, using much better drivers.

    Cool.

Bummer that the drivers aren't round. There was a good counter-sink tutorial for such drivers around at some point - anyone have a link handy?

    That is a monster port

The measurements suggest these are nearly flat to 20 Hz. That makes them MUCH more bass capable than the Stentorians.

Curt posted it in one of the Fusion-4 Quad4 threads. Indeed it looks like a monster. I was wondering why there wasn't more discussion on it?

A 4 inch flared port is mentioned but that port hole at the bottom is, according to the dimensional drawing, a 6.25 inch cutout (and it is not flared). It almost seems that the port itself is not installed.

Yeah I was assuming that is the wide mouth of the flared 4" without the port installed. Bet it looks pretty mean with a big shinny port in place

Oh man, Oh man, The Galeons have been my mains for the last 6 months or so, and I kept day dreaming about something like this.
The SB13 is really very nice and this should blow away any limitations.

This port seems to fit the hole (kinda). Also there is no info that I can find regarding the length of said port.

I guess we can assume this is a beta release at this point?

It will be a madisound kit. So I guess the details will be scarce until the kit is released.

Kit or not, there is a link to a Madisound BOM on one of the pages but it goes to nothing at this point. Presumably that BOM will answer many questions.

If the measurements suggest this thing is as good as it is, I'm ready-to-rock, my CNC machine at-the-ready.

Uluwatu? Scary name. Sounds like some type of disease you catch in South Africa. Other than that, that looks like one heck of a design.
