Makes me think of getting more capital for R&D... - and more butter on bread for the management:p At least Volvo, Saab and Jaguar have got new wings from China and India!

1984 The SEAS employees bought 10% of the shares in the company
1986 The employees fromed a holding company, Nexus, and bought the remaining 90% of the shares.

It all depends on how the company is taken over. Quality 'could' easily remain the same if the current structure is left intact, and it could even get better.

In the Scanspeak thread I made reference that this was coming. There may be one more announcement too.

I would not expect the quality to change though.

                  Hi,

Not sure if it makes a difference but I heard that it was Sonavox Canada who did the buying and since they already bought BASH (Indigo Data) located in Markham who knows.....

                    You can say that again.

Re: SEAS of Norway bought by Sonavox

People aren't buying the products due to price and the companies raise the price because, oh no! profit isn't as high as it was previously. But wait now even more people can't afford it so the company ends up going under and someone comes and buys their company. So it goes.

The quality may even go up due to having access to a large company's R&D. I guess the most important question for us is will Scan-Speak and SEAS stop selling to the DIY community now there is less need to do so? If the brands are used to add value to the large companies top end exclusive ranges then stopping selling to competitors or selling at very high price are likely to be attractive moves.
