  • How To Install WT3 Driver?

I haven't used my WT3 in a while. Now, since I have been using a Behringer UCA202, that is how the unit is recognized, as a Behringer USB device. I can't seem to get the Behringer thing undone even temporarily to use the WT3 for a couple of drivers. Uninstalling does nothing, comes back as a Berry.

This has happened since Behringer updated their drivers to 2.8.40 (directly through Windows update). There is no Berry software installed, this is at the driver level, both my pc and laptop, Win 7 x86 and 64. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know these WT3 units are very finicky to begin with.

Right click on the speaker icon in the toolbar right click the active audio device and click "disable" right click Speakers USB Audio CODEC and click enable. I believe the WT3 uses generic USB audio drivers. Probably your USB sound card uses generic Windows drivers as well. That would explain the confusion. Is this the first time you are using it on a Win7 computer?

I have used it on both of these machines before, but it has been a while. The issue is the WT3 is being recognized as the Behringer device, therefore there is no generic driver installed. Uninstalling the Berry driver, even checking delete files, does not remedy. Next time it's plugged in it goes to Windows update and downloads the Berry driver again. It could be the WT3 flaked out permanently.

        Hello Zhillsguy,

WT3 and DATS are designed to use the Windows USB Audio CODEC driver that comes with Windows. If you have replaced that driver with the Behringer driver and are having trouble reverting to the Windows driver then just try using the Behringer driver. If I recall correctly the main difference is in the gain settings. The Windows driver requires that you set the Record Level to precisely "1". But the Behringer driver may need the level set higher, as high as "100". It's been a while since I looked at it. But other than level setting the Behringer driver should work fine. Just make sure you set it up for 2 channel recording at 44.1 kHz.

        Regards,
        John

Thanks for the response John. I managed to find a way to completely uninstall the Behringer drivers and the generic re-installed and is working fine.

          I followed the instructions here.
