Love it. Hoping to start mine soon!

Care to summarize what you think worked well? What you would do different?

        i'll try ..

everything turned out really well except for the finish ... the Sony has DSP and a 10 band EQ that gives me plenty of control . the Clarion is 300w into 2ohm and ya gotta know i ran a test to see if the brick could handle it and it did so well , the future possibility's are almost endless ...

i am now working out two things , the pig tail/gator clips so i can hook to any 12v battery and a 9-12v battery set up to maintain memory, size and weight had to be compromised somewhere lol

the finish was just my own ignorance and a lesson learned . thanks again bob ...

overall its more than a boombox , more like a portable high powered 2.1 that has AM/FM , CD , USB ,AUX in and Bluetooth with DSP and an EQ

maybe i should clarify that a lil more Joey . i did so much testing and adjusting before starting to build that the OS satellites are the only thing that survived my original concept but that is documented throughout the thread . even with all the extra finish's on the sub box i wasn't that much over budget maybe $50-$75 and that was from adding the sub ...

i'm thinking of naming it the LWYL Boombox ... ( any guesses ? )

I don't know why it took me so long to get to that last one.

BTW, that's a very manly looking boombox. You could use it for biceps curls.

roughly $600 inparts and finish (4x on the sub/elec. box , wrong primer) and about 50hrs. a huge thank you to bobbarkto for all the help off forum with the finish and to everyone else that contributed to this thread ...

i am super happy with the sound and glad it sounds better than it looks . this paint finish really kicked my azz !!!

I have been following this, freaking awesome! I got bit by the boombox bug, currently working on number 5. Mine are all either rough finish (truck bed coating), or unfinished (3/4" pine hand grenade crates), the current one is a ammo can and 4" coaxial speakers, 50x2 board amplifier, Bluetooth module, and security system battery.

i gotta add that playing with this the last couple days has been blast ! yesterday i linked the laptop via bluetooth witch opens it up to all my files also Pandora and ihart radio . the remote control allows me to adjust all sound functions from LP and i got it sounding really good X'ed at 100 with the 2nd slope in normal phase , i've also used the fade control to turn up the OS's a touch and give it a well balanced overall sound ...

still a little disappointed with the overall finish, with as much time and money as i'v spent and as good as it sounds i feel it deserves better and probably will be completely redone in the future ...
