A monkey is a member of hominides species Wikipedia Homo is the genus of hominids that includes modern humans and species closely related to them. The genus is estimated to be about 2.3 to 2.4 million years old.

Since the speaker will have just a miniscule 12" woofer, it can be compared to Tarzan, my previous suggestion. I believe that HOMO will leave you more room for development and evolution versions, please spare a thought for that!

And also, as I suppose you are a husband, I suppose highest possible WAF is a plus! At least if your wife has short hair...

And just think about how to tell your workmates about the new speakers: "I sat home all the evening listening to my own pair of HOMOs. I must say I have never heard any more soft and articulated speakers in my house, I love them so much! I am so happy that my friends at the TTforum helped and encouraged me to finally get these lovely works of art!"

I am not sure that I want to listen to a pair of Homo's!

Drivers have arrived. They are all nice looking. The woofer's cone is a little tacky and had bits of packing material stuck to it but it wiped off. The cone of the mid almost seems plastic but is a treated paper of some kind.

I'll try to build a prototype in the next 10 or 12 days to take some measurements. The LF alignment on the prototype will be an MLTL courtesy of Paul K. One could certainly still build it as a standard vented box as well but I think the MLTL will be a nice distinction of the design. Thanks Paul.

Here are pics of drivers. When there is progress I'll start a build thread.

Just a note for those following this thread. PE are now supplying the Tymphany FSL-0615R02-08 6.5" midrange for $30 and the Tymphany H26TG45-06 1" waveguide tweeter for $30. There are a few versions of the latter.

The Tymphany mid looks to be a bit more efficient than the Faital Pro which may be relevant in locations with minimal baffle step. The tweeter is 6 ohm for those wanting to avoid a 4 ohm load. There are also 8 ohm versions.

Hi guys, did a design ever get finalized for this? I have a pair of ST305's just waiting in the wings.
                  thanks,

nikkoluvr, maybe you can be the first to get started on a build

This project had some good interest, but sort of died off. I've got the Vifa tweeter and a couple of the different mids that were discussed. If anyone wants to work on the crossover, I can send out a prototype enclosure with the tweeter, mid, and woofer.

What would be the reason not to go with sealed back mids?

Generally, sealed back mids are on the lower end of the price and performance scale. They can obviously be worked with, but the parts cost will very often be quite a lot more than the cost of the drivers themselves. Using a better quality, higher performing driver and building an enclosure for it is generally preferred.
