Recognizing that we all have busy lives, and that speaker building takes a backseat to more important things; and hoping that I'm not applying undue pressure, stepping on toes, nor causing a feeding frenzy; I still have to wonder: any update on those Overnight Sensation TMM towers? I'd love to convert an MTM to get some more bass...

Re: Os tmm?
Actually, now might be a good time. Let me see if I can whip up some baffles and make this happen. Wait, which tweeter did you guys want?Isn't it about time we started answering rhetorical questions?

Paul, you've made my day! I've started building (albeit slowly...3 kids under 7...) a 5.1 system with OS MTM towers (or maybe TMM now...) and Swope sub. My front baffles will be 100+yr old barbados mahogany I inherited from my grandfather (old wardrobe). Just visited an exotic wood shop today and they had some interesting finishes. Still trying to decide on finish for cabs (wife doesn't want black...), thinking something lighter to contrast the rich mahogany.
If you can't tell, I'm super pumped that you're considering this project:DCarbon13

Although, I guess Meniscus sells TM and center kits with the HiVi tweeter... but of course those kits don't come with cabinets...

And further, this is for a TMM tower, which means you would have to build the cabinets yourself anyway since no flatpacks exist for these, unless Erich is planning to make some.
BTW - PE OSMTs kits are on back order until November...Carbon13

Re: Os tmm?
Good point. But, assuming the crossover requires a redesign, nor would the diysoundgroup kits work: those kits use the MTM baffle and crossover parts, with no substitutions available. If different crossover parts are required, and if the baffle is different, then no available kit is going to fit the bill.
It is worth noting that going with the meniscus kit (the T-20) does mean that you can call those folks and ask to swap the relevant parts. They're a fully stocked diy speaker shop, and I'm guessing it would be no big deal for them to make some substitutions. Methinks Erich at diysoundgroup isn't in a position to do that. But maybe Eirch can chime in here?

Re: Os tmm?
Points taken... And I was never suggesting that the TMM would not require a totally different crossover than the MTM... and realize it'd need to be a different kit.
My point was that there are likely many more OS TM and MTM already built out there with the Dayton tweeter because they are available in kit form with cabinets included (and for less $ than the kits at Meniscus that do not include cabinets)... so staying with the Dayton could benefit more individuals by allowing them to round out a system.
Of course, a portion of those individuals likely went with the kits from Erich or PE because the cabinets are included... and may not be interested in building, or have the tools to build, the TMM unless flat packs become available.
And I realize Meniscus can swap out the parts easily... but that really only helps here if Paul designs a xover for each of the tweeters...

Re: Os tmm?
Carbon and I are in a better position to build with the T20; others are no doubt in a position to build with the Dayton. How many in either camp, it's hard to say. How many in either subset who actually would convert them to TMM, even harder. I suppose that Paul will pick one, and either one is a good choice. I - and I suspect all of us on this thread - will be happy either way with your generous efforts, Paul.
