ok , everything is pretty tight but i'll double check , gonna grab the glue gun anyway as i still need to get the second one together this weekend ...
also gonna get to the flea-market and see if i can find a good deal on 8 chrome trailer hitch ba!!s for use for feet . i'd hate to order them online as shipping would be high ...
at present they are just zip tied but i think i'll bring the hot glue gun home from work tomorrow , couldn't hurt ...
I've used hot glue before, but prefer not to. The high temperature might cause some damage to a cap. Unless you have something so loose that its flopping around, I wouldn't add glue.
Are your components only zip tied to the peg board or did you also use a little hot melt glue (not visible) underneath? If no glue I'd be slightly concerned about vibrations.
I like hot melt glue and totally trust it for most any size cap, resistors, and small air core inductors. I only add zip ties for large inductors and mongoid caps
The unfinished picture threw me. It may be fine, but check this picture that I altered with some tags. Do the woofer and mid grounds run across the backside of the pegboard, and connect right at the middle of the big cap on the top?
no , 1st pic was just asking about inductor spacing . the 2nd one was pretty much finished minus the 3 ohm resister that came in the mail shortly after . here it is now sitting on top of the speaker in use and sounds fine ...
anyone see any glaring issues before i start soldering ?
I think I see several errors, but I'm not sure due to camera angles, and all the stuff behind the board making things hard to see. Is anything connected on the back side? Was the first pictured x-over supposed to be finished?
first cold front of the season is coming through this weekend , temp and humidity will be a whole lot better for doing work outside ... that said it will still probably be another month before their finished ...
