Made some progress on the project. The cases are made from cast resin 3Form panel that I've had for a long time. Joints are 45* solvent glued together (basically melted)
I broke down and ordered a bucket of Green Glue. Experimenting with different CLD sandwiches now.
The side panels are in the vacuum press, squeezed to burl walnut.
Will post pictures tomorrow.

First cut on this project. So the 3Form panel is a very dense cast resin. This particular one is a lamination of 2 thinner panels and fabric in between. Very expensive and horrible color. 10-15 years ago I build a new counter-top for Junior's restaurant but 3Form send us a wrong color. http://www.juniorscheesecake.com/our...ants/brooklyn/ (the counter flushes here)
I got stuck with a few thousand worth of very heavy and ugly panels.

The usual Miter Folding.
For this resin, the glue is actually a solvent. First, the panels are folded dry and then a very tiny amount of liquid is applied on the joint. It goes in immediately and in 10 min the panels are literally melted together.

Oh wow this is cool! What's the density of that material? That veneer is beautiful as always!

Re: Magnetar small high fidelity system-Seas Excel and Illuminator
Thanks guys.
3Form is about as dense as Plexi. I suspect it's a bit heavier. I cannot lift up a 4'x10'x5/8" panel by myself and it's a bit of an exercise even for 2 people. It machines much easier than Plexi. Does not gum up on the blades or binds on the saw.
