  • Dear P-E

This is a question without an answer, but I'll toss it out there. The buy-out Acarian 1" Silk Dome Tweeter (part # 279-122 $24.90 ea.) is the question. It looks very interesting, is probably worth three or four times the price but how does idiot #1 here figure (with-in 45 days) a new design with it?

There is somewhat limited information on it available, so that's a drawback.

What do you smart-guys do? Ooops, I better qualify that. Mr. J. Bagby turns the world sideways to make the driver work, and Wolfie can put parts on it 'til it turns blue. (I'm kidding with you from envy.) What should I do? There's about a half-dozen new soft-dome tweeters to sample in the same price range.

That's funny because I was just chiding Junior about his willingness to throw parts at a problem and keep South American copper mines humming.

Buyouts are often a great deal, but, I have to wonder why do you say this tweeter is worth ore than $25? Is it even worth $25? I have no idea, I haven't heard it or seen any measurements. But, not knowing the brand I would sooner trust this tweeter, at around that price:

That's is the question, isn't it ? If they were TWO for $25, I'd be all over them. The new Tympany tweeters look interesting too. What to do....

I'm sorry- what? (I know where you got it now, Marty...)

Wolf, I just had to pick on you. You'd have your feelings hurt if I didn't. Besides, you're a slow-moving target!

On another note, I scared myself this afternoon during football. I got my measurements of my Zaph's modified B652's run thru PCD and CAME UP WITH HIS ANSWER within 10% overall!!! I don't know if I held my tongue right or the phase of the Moon is aligned. I really don't know HOW I got to the correct values of coils and caps and resistors, but I did. The piggie and I are huddled in the corner....
