I have the 15" 390 hf in a 20 w/ 18 d / 24 h box with a 4" x 19" port . powered by a "pinnacle amp 800" amp . it is used about 50/50 music/ ht . it does a great job as it is , I am just wondering what personal designs others would build it to for it to sound it's best ! ported / sealed ? I don't want it to be the size of a fridge though ! I would just like some input on what you experts would build ! so thanks for any suggestions and see some of ya at iowa diy !

I've not modeled the hf, but that box seems a bit small. I have the HO in 7.5 cu-ft. The hf generally takes a larger box than the HO.

the optimal model for bassbox is 42x26x17 with 2- 4 x 24 vents ! that seems abit large ! that's why i'm looking for some advice from you guys and trying to get some kind of different designs to look at ! would sealed be better ?

Buy the HO version. It will work pretty well in 4 cu-ft. It will go 6 or 7 hz deeper in 6 or 7 cu-ft though.

Yeah. What do you think about a pair of 4"d x 24" long vents in a 6 cf box?
Sealed, you'll need boost to get your bottom end back.

Chris, is the box size modeled 6 cuft ? A pair of 4x 24 ports is fine .ill play with it when I get home this afternoon. I could make it Shorter and deeper to get away from 40" tall!
