It's regular Woodcraft veneer, 10 mil backing I think. I did a close-close up is probably why it looks extra thick... not so in real life. I did a macro-zoom and the lens was only about 2 inches from the piece. At a normal distance it blends nicely, you can't really see a seam.

Third Coat of poly...

I used VeneerSupplies.com heatlock iron-on glue to adhere the veneer as I almost always do. It's foolproof pretty much and a lot of fun to do.
