    Yes, without a problem.

      Re: Big Radius 2-way

      That looks fantastic.
I've done a few curved builds with kerf cuts and have had similar issues as you did. Nothing that caused a big problem though.

My father told me he had seen special kerf blades that taper to a very thin thickness near the tip of the blade. I think this reduces some of the 'faceting' or flat spot problems we often have with using this approach. I've never seen one, but he says he has.

1/8" of material is a lot to remove and have it bend uniform, but your project seems to have come out nearly perfect.

        Thanks Matt.
Tom, I think I'll do better on the next one. I think I need to make molds kinda like you do with you curved sides. Side by side, there is a difference in the two.

Put mud everywhere I thought it was needed

Sanded with 60 and used a sponge on the roundovers. Then applied the black Duratex to the front, back and top.

Then I masked off from the radus front to back and started the Orange Duratex. This must be 12 coats.

Next weekend I'll do some light sanding and maybe apply a clear coat.
BTW, th orange is Behr Dragon fire S_G_240 that Miki at Duratex mixed up for me.

Yeah, in a way. In retrospect, I wish I would have raised both drivers a couple of inches.

Got them set up and some measuring with omnimic.
                      Pretty clean Impulse.

                      0 to 60 degrees.

                      Which gets me this.

And not least, Distortion from about a foot.

Probably wont go with this exact crossover, its just what I could do in a short time today.

The whole thing is in prep for a similar build except a wmtmw tower for my son-n-law. Never used the 3" Quarter round before. Hence the huge space above the tweeter.

                            Re: Big Radius 2-way

Just a note from the inside track regarding the PS180/PM180 drivers:

Because of their low Qts, if you want to get bass from them, you will need a large vented enclosure. I have a pair of PS180 drivers in the 300-7066 knock-down tower cabinets configured as ML-TLs, and they have always impressed myself and other listeners with excellent bass performance, but they need a big box to do it.

In a smaller cabinet like Lowell's current build, a woofer/subwoofer is definitely a necessity, as is a high-ish sensitivity tweeter.
                            Best Regards,

                              Re: Big Radius 2-way

Finally have these playing. Have been working on something else for a bit.
Built tow um10 kits. Got the boxes in a deal a while back and won one um10 at DokotaDIY. Had one plate amp so had to buy one and one. The flat pack boxes were made for some other driver so were 1/4 inch to small. I had to buy a huge rabbit bit to remove 1/8 all around. Fits perfect now. Was disappointed to learn when using the speaker level inputs and outputs that fixed at 125hz high pass. Not the 180 crossover like with the LME inputs. They still blend rather well with the PS180
Same paint scheme. The tweeters are just 29 inches off the floor but as you could imagine, do really well above on axis.

Really have to keep reminding myself that this is and exercise in diffraction control, because I think the drivers being so low looks ugly.
I have a preamp coming this week so will be able to listen to a Cd player instead of a soundcard in a laptop.

This is one side of whole system at about two feet. Still voicing at this point, but they are close.
