  • Makeing .FRD file from HOLMImpuls and Mic .cal file

OK, the thing I am not sure of is changing the db scale in excel.
I looked up (How to create a file for use in PCD..... By Ryanbouma) in the Re: A HOLM starter guide in this forum and its worded

    Directions go:
"10. All the Holm output is now in excel. You need to scale the middle column to the desired SPL. So if you have an 88db tweeter that measured -21db, you need add 88+21 = 109. If you measured two drivers from the same distance and volume, this scale value should be the same.
    11. In an empty column to the righ, start a formula that says =B1+109 (or what ever scaler you determined in step 10)."

I know I am a little slow sometimes but.....
First off, (So if you have an 88db tweeter that measured -21db) is (88db) the sensitivity measurement? And where did the -21db come in at? Nothing on that measurement list is -21
Couldn't I just take my new .FRD and upload to J.B.s response blender or equivalent and adjust the db there and by-pass the excel calculations cause I am going to have to blend near field/far field and port measurement any way?

One more, I am learning ARTA also and have been doing OK but have a long way to go. I got everything loaded mic calibration file ect. and everything is OK and was working good then I went to get my process down so I started over to make sure I have it down pat but now ARTA won't accept the mic .cal file, I have one .mic file and one .cal file they are the same file just the extension is different. Nether will load now. I didn't change anything, I think. I haven't had time to mess with it today to figure it out so I figured I'd shoot this out there to.

    Thanks!
