We spend more than enough time making fun of and debunking audio snake oil. And since this place is well-stocked with a lot of level-headed individuals, our discussions don't resort to flaming or personal attacks too much. ;)
Since I consider most of the people here very practical and intelligent, and also the fact that we come from a variety of backgrounds, I'd like to see a discussion of "snake oil" products from other industries.
Case in point: The Fuelshark - A device meant to save you 10% on gas, and all you had to do was plug it in your cigarette lighter. This article goes through it in great depth (and a bit of humor) to explain exactly what's in there, and exactly why it doesn't work.
Other things that come to mind are those Magnetic Ion Bracelets everyone seemed to wear during the late 90s - early 2000s. And that Airborne supplement that supposedly could keep you from getting sick "because it was invented by a teacher, so they must know all about germs."
So what else you got? Like I said, I know people here have a variety of occupations and other hobbies, so I'm curious what you've seen.
