  • Looking for Stand Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a professional tripod style speaker stand (eg type used for live gigs) with a platform on top suitable to use for speaker measurements? Time to replace the 8' aluminum ladder with something easier to use

Looking for something> 6' ideally at least 8', for outdoor use

    Thanks in advance!

    Stand mounts

I've got the stand closed up a bit to fit in the corner. I use a nylon strap to hold the speaker on the stand top. The top is black painted 3/4 inch plywood.

Dave those speaker at the Latus1, there's a link in my signature and they are over in PE's project showcase.

For the top hats, I went with the ones where I could turn the speaker and lock in one position. I had trouble with long heavy speaker wires moving the speaker.

John, the Latus1 looks like a nice speaker, and nice write up. I've always wanted to design something like this with the side firing woofer doing duty a bit higher up. Looks great

Thanks, I'm glad I built it and learned a lot about off axis woofer mid integration. Picking a larger mid would have allow me to push the x-o below 200 which would made this a bit easier.
